Important morning lessons for busy mums and puppy owners.

-When you wake up in the morning, RUN with the puppy to take him outside, don’t wait. Don’t wait even a little, unless you want a puddle the size of a small lake in your bed.

-White bathroom rugs look almost exactly like puppy pads. And they are much squishier and nicer to use then puppy pads. Apparently.

-When puppies whine while you are doing something, don’t tell them off, chances are they are not being obnoxious and asking you to play, but perhaps they need an urgent poo….. if you don’t listen (and act), this may happen in your bedroom.

-When you are done cleaning up the rug, the bed, the kids cereal and so on, be careful with your blusher brush, it does NOT go in the eye, but on the cheeks.

-The bowl of white stuff next to the coffee is sugar. You use it. Lots of it. Don’t forget to put it and then take a big swig of coffee just before getting your shoes on, it will give you a rather bitter start to the day.

Have a great morning everyone! 🙂

  1. The art of training a dog involves crating until they are totally housebroken, then giving them
the freedom to roam the house, leaving puppy pads out if you are not home IF they will use
them. Some dogs will NOT. If your coffee is bitter you are using the wrong coffee- change brands. Adding sugar adds un-needed calories and ruins the flavor. Dogs will clearly tell you what they want and need and will TRAIN YOU to understand those needs. My 14 year old Maltese gets to go out then eat long before my coffee is poured or my meal prepared. She is polite, obedient, funny, and I treasure every moment of these last days with her.

    • Thank you for your comment 🙂 The post was – obviously – tongue in cheek. I already have two 12 year old Hav’s and have had dogs in my family since I was born. I know very well how to train 🙂 Thank you for telling me how to take my coffee, I obviously know sugar is bad for me, but we all do somethings that aren’t ideal for our bodies, for me, its sugar in the coffee 🙂 Have a great day!

      • I realized yours was tongue in cheek and got a big kick out of it; as was my comment- having also learned the hard way with dogs around all my life, as well. Havanese are great dogs too– long ago relatives to the Maltese yet a separate breed unto themselves. As for the sugar? Coffee isn’t supposed to be bitter!
